Sanctified Souls Are Satisfied

My people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 31:14)

Note the “my” which comes twice: “My people shall be satisfied with my goodness.”

The kind of people who are satisfied with God are marked out as God’s own. He is pleased with them, for they are pleased with Him. They call Him their God, and He calls them His people; He is satisfied to take them for a portion, and they are satisfied with Him for their portion. There is a mutual communion of delight between God’s Israel and Israel’s God.

These people are satisfied. This is a grand thing. Very few of the sons of men are ever satisfied, let their lot be what it may; they have swallowed the horse-leech, and it continually cries, “Give! give!” Only sanctified souls are satisfied souls. God Himself must both convert us and content us.

It is no wonder that the Lord’s people should be satisfied with the goodness of their Lord. Here is goodness without mixture, bounty without stint, mercy without chiding, love without change, favor without reserve. If God’s goodness does not satisfy us, what will? What! are we still groaning? Surely there is a wrong desire within if it be one which God’s goodness does not satisfy.

Lord, I am satisfied. Blessed be Thy name.

திருப்தியடைந்த ஆன்மாக்கள்

என் ஜனங்கள் நான் அளிக்கும் நன்மையினால் திருப்தியடைவார்கள் (எரேமி.31:14).

என், நான் என்று இரண்டு தடவை வருவதைக் கவனியுங்கள். என் ஜனங்கள் நான் அளிக்கும் நன்மையினால் திருப்தியாவார்கள்.

தேவன்மேல் திருப்தியுள்ளவர்கள் கடவுளுக்குச் சொந்தமானவர்கள் என்று குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறார்கள். அவர்கள் அவர் மேல் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவதால் அவர்அவர்கள் மேல் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார். அவர்கள் அவரைத் தங்கள் தேவன் என்கிறார்கள். அவர் அவர்களைத் தம் மக்கள் என்கிறார். அவர்களைத் தம் மக்களாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில் அவர் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார். அவர்கள் அவரைத் தம் தேவனாக ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதில் மகிழ்ச்சிஅடைகிறார்கள். கடவுளின் இஸ்ரவேலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் கடவுளும் ஒருவரைக் குறித்து ஒருவர் மகிழ்ச்சி உள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இப்படிப்பட்ட மக்கள் திருப்தி உள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். இது சிறப்பானதாகும். எப்படிப்பட்ட நிலையில் இருந்தாலும் மனுபுத்திரரில் சிலரேதிருப்தி உள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் மனம் எப்போதும் இன்னும் வேண்டும் இன்னும் வேண்டும் என்றே தவித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்ட ஆன்மாக்களே திருப்தியடைந்த ஆன்மாக்களாகும். தேவனே நம்மை மனம் மாறச் செய்து திருப்தியடையச் செய்யவேண்டும்.

ஆண்டவரின் மக்கள் அவருடைய நன்மையினால் திருப்தியடைவது ஆச்சரியமானதல்ல. இங்கு கலப்படமில்லாத நன்மையும் வரையறை இல்லாத ஊக்க ஊதியமும் இடித்துக் காட்டுதல் இல்லாத இரக்கமும் மாற்றம் இல்லாத அன்பும் கட்டுப்பாடற்ற கருணையும் காணப்படுகின்றன. தேவன்அளிக்கும் நன்மை நம்மைத் திருப்தி செய்யாவிட்டால் வேறு எது திருப்தி செய்யும்? நாம் இன்றும் புலம்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோமா? அப்படியானால் கடவுளின் நன்மை திருப்தி செய்யாத தகாத ஆசையொன்று நம்முள் இருக்கிறது.

ஆண்டவரே நான் திருப்தியடைந்திருக்கிறேன். நீர் மகிமையடைவீராக!

„Mein Volk soll zufrieden sein mit meiner Güte, spricht der Herr .“ Jer. 31, 14.

Beachtet das „mein“, was zweimal vorkommt: „Mein Volk soll zufrieden sein mit meiner Güte.“ Die Art Leute, die mit Gott zufrieden sind, werden hier als Gottes Eigentum bezeichnet. Er hat an ihnen Gefallen, denn sie haben an Ihm Gefallen. Sie nennen Ihn ihren Gott und Er nennt sie Sein Volk; Er ist damit zufrieden, sie als sein Teil zu nehmen, und sie sind mit Ihm als ihr Teil zufrieden. Es ist eine wechselseitige freudevolle Gemeinschaft zwischen dem Israel Gottes und dem Gott Israels.

Diese Leute sind zufrieden. Das ist etwas Großes. Sehr wenige der Menschenkinder sind je zufrieden, ihr Los sei, wie es will; sie haben den Ross-Blutegel geschluckt, und der schreit beständig: „Gib! Gib!“ Nur geheiligte Seelen sind zufriedene Seelen. Gott selbst muss uns sowohl bekehren als auch zufrieden machen.

Es ist kein Wunder, dass das Volk des Herrn mit der Güte seines Herrn zufrieden ist. Hier ist Güte ohne Beimischung, Freigebigkeit ohne Einschränkung, Barmherzigkeit ohne Hadern, Liebe ohne Wandel, Huld ohne Vorbehalt. Wenn Gottes Güte uns nicht befriedigt, was ist dann dazu imstande? Wie! Seufzen wir immer noch? Gewiss ist da ein unrechter Wunsch darin, wenn es einer ist, den Gottes Güte nicht zufrieden stellen kann.

Herr, ich bin zufrieden. Gelobt sei Dein Name!
