An Appeal; Deliverance
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (Psalm 50:15)
This is a promise indeed!
Here is an urgent occasion—”the day of trouble.” It is dark at noon on such a day, and every hour seems blacker than the one which came before it. Then is this promise in season: it is written for the cloudy day.
Here is condescending advice, “Call upon me.” We ought not to need the exhortation: it should be our constant habit all the day and every day. What a mercy to have liberty to call upon God! What wisdom to make good use of it! How foolish to go running about to men! The Lord invites us to lay our case before Him, and surely we will not hesitate to do so.
Here is reassuring encouragement: “I will deliver thee.” Whatever the trouble may be, the Lord makes no exceptions but promises full, sure, happy deliverance. He will Himself work out our deliverance by His own hand. We believe it, and the Lord honors faith.
Here is an ultimate result: “Thou shalt glorify me.” Ah, that we will do most abundantly. When He has delivered us we will loudly praise Him; and as He is sure to do it, let us begin to glorify Him at once.

வேண்டுகோளும் விடுதலையும்
ஆபத்துக் காலத்தில் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடு, நான் உன்னை விடுவிப்பேன் நீ என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துவாய் (சங்.50:15).
இது உண்மையாகவே ஒரு வாக்குறுதியாகும். இதோ உடனடியாக செய்யவேண்டிய இரு நிலை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இது ஆபத்துக்காலம். இந்நாளில் உச்சிவேளையே இருட்டாயிருக்கிறது. தொடர்ந்து வரும் ஒவ்வொரு மணிநேரமும் முந்தையை விட இருட்டாகிக் கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது.இது அப்படிப்பட்ட நாளுக்கேற்ற வாக்குறுதியாகும். மேகமூட்டமான நாளுக்கென்றே இது கொடுக்கப் பட்டதாகும்.
நமக்கு அருள் நிறைந்த ஆலோசனை கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. ஆண்டவர் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடு என்கிறார். நமக்கு அவ்விதம் சொல்லப்பட வேண்டியதில்லை. ஒவ்வொருநாளும் நாள் முழுவதும் அவ்விதம் நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவது நம் பழக்கமாயிருக்க வேண்டும். கடவுளை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடும் சுதந்திரம் இருப்பது எவ்வளவு பெரிய கிருபையாகும்! அந்தச் சுதந்திரத்தைப் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்வது எவ்வளவு ஞானமாகும்! மனிதரிடம் ஓடுவது முட்டாள் தனமாகும்.நம் வழக்கை அவரிடம் கூறச்சொல்லி ஆண்டவர் அழைக்கிறார். அவ்விதம் செய்ய நாம் நிச்சயமாகத் தயங்க மாட்டோம்.
திரும்பவும் நம்பிக்கை ஊட்டத்தக்கதாக அவர் நான் உன்னை விடுவிப்பேன் என்று ஊக்குவிக்கிறார். நம் தொல்லை எதுவாயினும் விதிவிலக்கின்றிமுழுவதுமாக நிச்சயமாக மகிழ்ச்சி தரும் விதமாய் விடுதலை அளிப்பதாக ஆண்டவர் வாக்களிக்கின்றார். அவரே நமக்கு விடுதலை அளிப்பார். நாம் அதை நம்புகிறோம். நம் நம்பிக்கையை அவர் மதிக்கிறார். இதன் இறுதியான பயனும் கூறப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. நீ என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துவாய்என்கிறார். நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவரை நிறைவாக மகிமைப்படுத்துவோம். அவர் விடுதலை அளித்தவுடன் நாம் அவரைப் போற்றித் துதிப்போம். அவர் கண்டிப்பாக நமக்கு விடுதலை அளிப்பார். ஆகையால் இப்போதே அவரை மகிமைப்படுத்தத் தெடங்குவோமாக!

„Und rufe mich an am Tage der Not, so will ich dich erretten, so sollst du mich preisen.“ Ps. 50, 15.
Dies ist in der Tat eine Verheißung! Hier ist eine dringende Gelegenheit – „der Tag der Not.“ Es ist an einem solchen Tage dunkel selbst am Mittag, und jede Stunde scheint schwärzer als die vorherige. Dann ist die Zeit für diese Verheißung; sie ist geschrieben für den wolkigen Tag.
Hier ist herablassender Rat: „Rufe mich an.“ Wir sollten die Ermahnung nicht benötigen; es sollte unsere beständige Gewohnheit den ganzen Tag lang und jeden Tag sein. Was für eine Gnade, dass es uns freisteht, Gott anzurufen! Was für eine Weisheit, guten Gebrauch davon zu machen! Wie töricht, hinter Menschen herzulaufen! Der Herr fordert uns auf, unsere Sache Ihm vorzulegen, und gewiss wollen wir nicht zögern, es zu tun.
Hier ist ermutigende Zusicherung: „Ich will dich erretten.“ Was auch die Not sein mag, der Herr macht keine Ausnahmen, sondern verheißt völlige, sichere, fröhliche Errettung. Er will selber durch seine eigene Hand unsere Errettung herbeiführen. Wir glauben es, und der Herr ehrt den Glauben.
Hier ist ein Endresultat: „Du sollst mich preisen.“ Ach! das wollen wir von ganzem Herzen tun. Wenn Er uns errettet hat, wollen wir Ihn laut preisen; und da Er es sicherlich tun wird, so lasst uns sogleich beginnen, Ihn zu erheben.
