“…by love serve one another.” (Gal. 5:13)
Someone has said, “Self thinks itself great and is served. Love serves and is great.”
A popular Gospel singer witnessed to the man sitting next to him in a restaurant and had the joy of leading him to Christ. In the weeks that followed, he discipled this new convert. Then Fred, the new believer, was stricken with inoperable cancer and was taken to a convalescent hospital where, unfortunately, care was below standard. The Gospel singer, a radio celebrity, visited faithfully, changed the bed, bathed and fed his “Timothy”, and did many other things that the staff should have been doing. On the night Fred died, this well-known singer was holding him in his arms, whispering comforting verses of Scripture into his ear. “…by love serve one another.”
A senior instructor at a Bible School often found the men’s room awash after the morning rush. He would patiently clean the fixtures, then get down and wipe the floor dry. Not all his best teaching was done in the classroom. The students were humbled and inspired by the example of their respected teacher cleaning up after them. “…by love serve one another.”
In that same Bible School, a member of the basketball team had the heart of a true servant. After a game, when all the players would rush down to be first in the showers, he would stay in the gym and see that it was set in order for the next day. He “found in the selfishness of others an opportunity to identify himself afresh with the Lord as the servant of all.” “…by love serve one another.”
A Christian mother from rural Turkey was taken to London to donate a kidney for her ailing son. She assumed that to give a kidney would cost her life. When the English doctor asked if she was sure she was willing to give a kidney to her son, she replied, “I am willing to give two kidneys.” “…by love serve one another.”
In a world dominated largely by self-interest, the pathway of selfless, sacrificial service is not overcrowded. Opportunities beckon throughout every day for innovative acts of servanthood.

அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊழியஞ்செய்யுங்கள். கலா.5:13
அன்பின் ஊழியம்
‘சுயம் தன்னைப் பெரியவன் என்று கருதி ஊழியம் கொள்கிறது. அன்போ பிறருக்கு ஊழியம் செய்கிறது. அதுவே பெரியது” என்று ஒருவர் மொழிந்துள்ளார்.
சிற்றூண்டிச்சாலையில் தனது அருகாமையில் அமர்ந்திருந்த ஒருவரிடம், புகழ் பெற்ற நற்செய்தி பாடகர் ஒருவர் கிறிஸ்துவைக் குறித்துச் சான்றுகூறி அவரைக் கர்த்தரிடம் நடத்திப் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார். அடுத்த வாரத்தில் அப்புதிய விசுவாசியைச் சீடராக்கும் பணியினையும் மேற்கொண்டார். சில நாட்களுக்குள்ளாகவே, பிரட் என்னும் பெயருடைய புதிய விசுவாசி, அறுவைச் சிகிட்சை செய்து குணப்படுத்த இயலாத புற்றுநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர் என்று தெரியவந்தது. நோய்வாய்ப்பட்ட அவர் எளியதொரு மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டார். ஆனால் அவருக்கு அழிக்கப்பட்ட பராமரிப்பு தரம் குறைந்ததாயிருந்தது. அந்தப் புகழ் பெற்ற நற்செய்தி பாடகர் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் அவரைத் தவறாமல் சென்று பார்ப்பார். படுக்கையை மாற்றுவார். தனது ‘தீமோத்தேயு| வைக் குளிப்பாட்டி, உணவளித்து, செய்ய வேண்டிய அனைத்தையும் செய்து முடிப்பார். பிரட் மரணமடைந்த இரவில், அப்பாடகர் அவரைத் தாங்கினவராக ஆறுதல் அளிக்கும் வேதவசனங்களை காதருகில் மெதுவாகக் கூறிக்கொண்டே இருந்தார். ‘ அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊழியஞ்செய்யுங்கள்”.
வேதாகமப்பள்ளி ஒன்றில், அனுபவமிக்க ஆசிரியர் ஒருவர் பணிபுரிந்தார். காலைக்கடன்களை மாணவர்கள் முடித்த பிறகு அவர்களது அறைகளை அவர் கழுவிச் சுத்தம் செய்வார். பொறுமையோடு அனைத்துப் பொருட்களையும் தூய்மைப்படுத்துவார். தரையைத் துடைத்து ஈரம் நீங்கும்படி செய்வார். அவர் நடத்திய அருமையான பாடங்கள் வகுப்பறையில் மட்டும் நடக்கவில்லை. அவரைக் கண்ணுற்ற மாணாக்கர், அவருடைய மாதிரியினாலே ஏவப்பட்டுத் தாழ்மையைக் கடைப்பிடித்தனர். ‘அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊழியஞ்செய்யுங்கள்”.
அதே வேதாகமப் பள்ளியில், கூடைப்பந்து விளையாட்டுக் குழுவைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவர் உண்மையான ஊழிய இருதயம் படைத்தவராயிருந்தார். உடற்பயிற்சி முடித்தவுடன் மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் குளியலறைக்கு விரைந்து செல்வர். ஆயின் அவரோ, அடுத்த நாள் பயிற்சிக்குத் தேவையான எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒழுங்கு செய்வார். ‘தன்னலம் மிக்கவராக பிறர் நடந்து கொள்வதை, கர்த்தரோடு இணைந்து பிறருக்கு ஊழியம் செய்வதற்குரிய சந்தர்ப்பமாகப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்டார்.” ‘அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊழியஞ்செய்யுங்கள்.”
நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டு வேதனையோடிருந்த தன்னுடைய குமாரனுக்குச் சிறுநீரகத்தைக் கொடுப்பதற்காக ஒரு தாய் துருக்கியிலிருந்து அமெரிக்கா சென்றாள். அவ்வாறு சிறுநீரகத்தைத் தருவதால்தான் இறந்துவிடக் கூடும் என்றே அவள் எண்ணினாள். ‘நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய மகனுக்கு ஒரு சிறுநீரகத்தைத் தர விரும்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று மருத்துவர் வினவினபோது அத்தாய், ‘இரண்டு சிறுநீரகத்தையும் கொடுக்க விரும்புகிறேன்” என்று விடைபகர்ந்தாள். ‘அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊழியஞ்செய்யுங்கள். ”
சுயநலத்தின் ஆதிக்கத்தில் சிக்குண்ட இவ்வுலகில், தன்னலமற்றோரையும், தியாக மனப்பான்மை உடையவர்களையும், காண்பது அரிது. ஊழியராக உழைக்க ஒவ்வொருநாளும் பற்பல வகைகளில் சந்தர்ப்பங்கள் நம்மைக் கையசைத்து அழைக்கின்றன.

»… durch die Liebe dienet einander.« Galater 5,13
Jemand hat gesagt: »Selbstsucht hält sich für groß und lässt sich bedienen. Liebe dient und ist groß.«
Ein bekannter christlicher Sänger gab einem Tischnachbarn im Restaurant Zeugnis und hatte die Freude, ihn zum Herrn führen zu dürfen. In den folgenden Wochen unterwies er diesen Neubekehrten in Wachstum und Jüngerschaft. Dann wurde Fred, der junge Gläubige, von unheilbarem Krebs heimgesucht und in ein Pflegehospital gebracht, wo die Betreuung leider völlig unzureichend war. Der Sänger – eine Berühmtheit im Radio – besuchte ihn treu, wechselte die Bettwäsche, badete und fütterte seinen »Timotheus « und tat viele andere Dinge, die eigentlich Aufgabe des Personals gewesen wären. In der Nacht, als Fred starb, hielt ihn der berühmte Sänger im Arm und flüsterte ihm tröstende Bibelverse ins Ohr. »… durch die Liebe dienet
einander.«
Einer der ranghöchsten Dozenten in einer Bibelschule fand oft den Waschraum der Männer nach der Morgentoilette ziemlich überschwemmt vor. Er putzte dann geduldig die Armaturen und kniete sich nieder, um den Fußboden trocken zu wischen. Seine besten Lektionen gab er nicht ausschließlich im Klassenzimmer. Die Studenten wurden durch das Beispiel ihres respektierten Lehrers, der hinter ihnen aufwischte, gedemütigt und angespornt. »… durch die Liebe dienet einander.«
An der gleichen Bibelschule hatte ein Mitglied der Basketball-Mannschaft das Herz eines wahren Dieners. Nach dem Spiel, wenn alle davonrannten, um als Erste unter die Duschen zu kommen, blieb er in der Turnhalle und kümmerte sich darum, dass sie für den nächsten Tag ordentlich aufgeräumt war. Er fand in der Selbstsucht anderer eine Gelegenheit, sich neu mit dem Herrn als dem Diener aller zu identifizieren. »… durch die Liebe dienet einander. «
Eine gläubige Frau aus einem ländlichen Gebiet in der Türkei wurde nach London gebracht, um eine Niere für ihren kranken Sohn zu spenden. Sie glaubte, dass das Spenden der Niere ihr Leben kosten würde. Als der englische Arzt sie fragte, ob sie auch wirklich bereit sei, eine Niere für ihren Sohn zu opfern, antwortete sie: »Ich bin auch bereit, zwei Nieren zu opfern. « »… durch die Liebe dienet einander.«
In einer hauptsächlich von Selbstsucht beherrschten Welt ist der Pfad selbstlosen, aufopfernden Dienstes nicht gerade überfüllt. Jeden Tag bieten sich neue Möglichkeiten für unzählige kleine und große Taten wahren Dienstes.
