Mark of Divine Approval
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12)
Yes, he is blessed while he is enduring the trial. No eye can see this till he has been anointed with heavenly eye salve. But he must endure it and neither rebel against God nor turn aside from his integrity. He is blessed who has gone through the fire and has not been consumed as a counterfeit.
When the test is over, then comes the hallmark of divine approval—”the crown of life.” As if the Lord said, “Let him live; he has been weighed in the balances, and he is not found wanting.” Life is the reward: not mere being, but holy, happy, true existence, the realization of the divine purpose concerning us. Already a higher form of spiritual life and enjoyment crowns those who have safely passed through fiercest trials of faith and love.
The Lord hath promised the crown of life to those who love Him. Only lovers of the Lord will hold out in the hour of trial; the rest will either sink or sulk, or slink back to the world. Come, my heart, dost thou love thy Lord? Truly? Deeply? Wholly? Then that love will be tried; but many waters will not quench it, neither will the floods drown it, Lord, let Thy love nourish mine to the end.

கடவுள் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டதற்கு அடையாளம்
சோதனையைச் சுமக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான் அவன் உத்தமனென்று விளங்கின பின்பு கர்த்தர் தம்மிடத்தில் அன்பு கூருகிறவர்களுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம் பண்ணின ஜீவ கிரீடத்தைப் பெறுவான் (யாக்.1:12).
ஆம்!சோதனையைச் சகித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறவன் பாக்கியவான். அவன்மேல் புண்ணாற்றும் கண் மருந்து பரலோகத்திலிருந்து ஊற்றப்படும் வரை யாராலும் அதைக் காண முடியாது. ஆனால் அதற்கு அவன் சகிக்கிறவனாய் இருக்கவேண்டும். கடவுளுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம் செய்கிறவனாயாவதுநேர்மையிலிருந்து விலகிச் செல்கிறவனாயாவது இருக்கக் கூடாது. அக்கினியின் ஊடாக நடந்து சென்றவனும் அவ்விதம் செல்கையில் போலியானவன் என்று அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டவனும் பாக்கியவான்.
சோதனை முடிந்தபின் கடவுள் அவன் நடத்தையை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளுகிறார்என்பதன் அடையாளமாக ஜீவகிரீடத்தைப் பெறுவான். ஆண்டவர் அவன் வாழட்டும் அவன் தராசில் நிறுக்கப்பட்டுக் குறையக் காணப்படவில்லை என்று சொல்வது போல் இருக்கும். அவன் பரிசாக அடைவது வாழ்வேயாகும். வெறும் வாழ்க்கையல்ல, ஆனால் பரிசுத்தமும் மகிழ்ச்சியும்உள்ளவனாய் அவனைக் குறித்த ஆண்டவரின் திட்டத்தை உணர்ந்து வாழும் மெய்யான வாழ்க்கையாகும்.
நம்பிக்கையையும் அன்பையும் குறித்த கடுமையான சோதனைகளை மேற்கொண்டவர்கள் மேலான ஆன்மீக வாழ்க்கையையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் அனுபவித்திருப்பார்கள். ஆண்டவர் தம்மைநேசிப்பவர்களுக்கு ஜீவ கிரீடத்தை வாக்குப் பண்ணியிருக்கிறார். ஆண்டவரை நேசிப்பவர்கள் மட்டு;மே சோதனையின் நேரத்தில் உறுதியுடன் நிலைத்திருப்பார்கள். மற்றவர்கள் அமிழ்ந்து விடுவார்கள். அல்லது சிடுசிடுப்பார்கள் அல்லது கோழைத்தனமாக உலகப் பிரகாரமான வாழ்க்கையில்ஈடுபட்டு விடுவார்கள். என் ஆன்மாவே நீ உன் ஆண்டவரை நேசிக்கிறாயா? அப்படியானால் அந்த அன்பு சோதனைக்குள்ளாக வேண்டும். தண்ணீர்கள் அதை அணைத்துவிட முடியாது. ஆண்டவரே எம் அன்பு முடிவு பரியந்தம் என் அன்பைப் பேணிக் காக்கட்டும்.

„Selig ist der Mann, der die Anfechtung erduldet; denn nachdem er bewährt ist, wird er die Krone des Lebens empfangen, welche Gott verheißen hat denen, die Ihn lieb haben.“ Jak. 1, 12.
Ja, er ist selig, während er die Prüfung erduldet. Kein Auge kann dies sehen, bis es mit himmlischer Augensalbe gesalbt ist. Aber er muss sie ertragen und sich weder gegen Gott empören, noch von seiner Lauterkeit ablassen. Der ist selig, der durch das Feuer hindurch gegangen und nicht als etwas Unechtes verzehrt worden ist.
Wenn die Probe vorüber ist, dann kommt das Siegel des göttlichen Beifalls: „die Krone des Lebens.“ Als wenn der Herr spräche: „Lasst ihn leben; er ist in der Waage gewogen und nicht zu leicht erfunden.“ L e b e n ist der Lohn: nicht bloßes Dasein, sondern heiliges, glückliches, wahres Sein, die Verwirklichung des Zweckes, den Gott mit uns hat. Schon jetzt krönt eine höhere Form des geistlichen Lebens und Genusses diejenigen, welche die stärksten Anfechtungen des Glaubens und der Liebe bestanden haben.
Der Herr hat die Krone des Lebens denen verheißen, die Ihn lieb haben. Nur Liebhaber des Herrn werden in der Stunde der Versuchung fest stehen; die übrigen sinken entweder oder schmollen oder schleichen zurück in die Welt. Komm, mein Herz, liebst du Deinen Herrn? Wahrhaft? Tief? Völlig? Dann wird diese Liebe geprüft werden; aber „viele Wasser werden sie nicht auslöschen, noch die Ströme sie ersäufen.“ Herr, lass Deine Liebe die meinige nähren bis ans Ende.
