Mark of Covenant Grace

And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul that thou mayest live. (Deuteronomy 30:6)

Here we read of the true circumcision. Note the author of it: “The Lord thy God.” He alone can deal effectually with our heart and take away its carnality and pollution. To make us love God with all our heart and soul is a miracle of grace which only the Holy Ghost can work. We must look to the Lord alone for this and never be satisfied with anything short of it.

Note where this circumcision is wrought. It is not of the flesh but of the Spirit. It is the essential mark of the covenant of grace. Love to God is the indelible token of the chosen seed; by this secret seal the election of grace is certified to the believer. We must see to it that we trust in no outward ritual but are sealed in heart by the operation of the Holy Ghost.

Note what the result is-“that thou mayest live.” To be carnally minded is death. In the overcoming of the flesh, we find life and peace. If we mind the things of the Spirit, we shall live. Oh, that Jehovah, our God, may complete His gracious work upon our inner natures, that in the fullest and highest sense we may live unto the Lord.

உடன்படிக்கை கிருபையின் அடையாளம்

உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரில் நீ உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் அன்பு கூர்ந்து பிழைக்கும்படி உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் இருதயத்தையும் உன் சந்ததியாரின் இருதயத்தையும் விருத்த சேதனம் பண்ணி… (உபா.30:6).

உண்மைளயான விருத்த சேதனத்தைப் பற்றி இங்கு வாசிக்கிறோம்.

அதைச் செய்வது யார் என்று பாருங்கள். உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர். அவர் ஓருவரே நம் இதயம் முடிவான பயன் அடையத்தக்கதாக நடவடிக்கை எடுத்துஅதன் சிற்றின்ப நாட்டத்தையும் தூய்மைக் கேட்டையும் அகற்றக்கூடியவர். கர்த்தரில் அன்பு கூரச் செய்வது கிருபையின் அற்புதமாகும் அதைப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே நிறைவேற்றக் கூடியவர். இதைச் செய்ய நாம் ஆண்டவரையே நெருங்கிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். அவர் செய்வதைவிடக் குறைவாகச்செய்யப்பட்டால் இதில் திருப்தி அடையக் கூடாது.

எங்கே விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யப்படுகிறது என்றும் பாருங்கள். அது மாம்சத்திற்கானதல்ல, ஆவிக்குரியது. அது உடன்படிக்கைக் கிருபையின் இன்றியமையாத அடையாளமாகும். ஆண்டவரில் அன்புகூருவது தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டவித்தைப் போன்றவர்களின் நிலையான உறுதிச் சின்னமாகும். இரகசியமான இந்த முத்திரையின் மூலம் விசுவாசி கிருபையைப் பெறத் தகுதியானவர் என்று அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறது. நாம் வெளிப்படையான எந்தச் சடங்காசாரத்தையும் நம்பாமல் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் கிரியை செய்வதால் மட்டுமேஇருதயத்தில் அந்த முத்திரை இடப்படுவதைகு; குறித்துக் கவனம் உள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

இதனால் விளையும் பலன் என்னவென்று பாருங்கள். பிழைக்கும்படி என்று சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. சிற்றின்ப நாட்டம் மரணத்தை விளைவிக்கும். மாம்சத்தை மேற்கொண்டால்வாழ்வையும் சமாதானத்தையும் கண்டடைகிறோம். ஆவிக்குரியவற்றில் நாம் அக்கறை காட்டினால் பிழைப்போம். நாம் முழுவதுமாகச் சிறந்த முறையில் ஆண்டவருக்கென்று பிழைத்திருக்க நம் கடவுள் நம் இயற்கை சக்தியில் கிருபையாய்க் கிரியை செய்தால் எவ்வளவு நன்றாயிருக்கும்.

„Und der Herr, dein Gott, wird dein Herz beschneiden, und das Herz deiner Nachkommen, dass du den Herrn, deinen Gott, liebst von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, auf dass du leben mögest.“ 5. Mose 30, 6.

Hier lesen wir von der wahren Beschneidung. Beachtet den Urheber derselben: „Der Herr, dein Gott.“ Er allein kann unser Herz wirksam behandeln und seine Fleischlichkeit und Verunreinigung hinwegnehmen. Bewirken, dass wir Gott von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele lieben, ist ein Wunder der Gnade, das nur der Heilige Geist zu tun vermag. Wir müssen von dem Herrn allein dies erwarten und niemals mit irgendetwas Geringerem zufrieden sein.

Beachtet, wo diese Beschneidung geschieht. Sie ist nicht vom Fleisch, sondern vom Geist. Sie ist das wesentliche Merkmal des Gnadenbundes. Liebe zu Gott ist das unauslöschliche Zeichen des erwählten Samens; durch dieses geheime Siegel wird die Wahl der Gnaden dem Gläubigen bestätigt. Wir müssen dahin sehen, dass wir auf keine äußerlichen Zeremonien vertrauen, sondern durch die Wirkung des Heiligen Geistes im Herzen versiegelt sind.

Beachtet, was das Ergebnis ist – „auf dass du leben mögest.“ Fleischlich gesinnt sein ist der Tod. In der Überwindung des Fleisches finden wir Leben und Frieden. Wenn wir geistlich gesinnt sind, sollen wir leben. O, dass Jehovah, unser Gott, sein Gnadenwerk an unserem inwendigen Menschen vollenden möchte, damit wir in dem vollsten und höchsten Sinne dem Herrn leben mögen.
