Full Reliance on God
For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. (Psalm 72:12)
The needy cries; what else can he do? His cry is heard of God; what else need he do? Let the needy reader take to crying at once, for this will be his wisdom. Do not cry in the ears of friends, for even if they can help you it is only because the Lord enables them. The nearest way is to go straight to God and let your cry come up before Him. Straightforward makes the best runner: run to the Lord and not to secondary causes.
“Alas!” you cry, “I have no friend or helper.” So much the better; you can rely upon God in both capacities-as without supplies and without helpers. Make your double need your double plea. Even for temporal mercies you may wait upon God, for He careth for His children in these temporary concerns. As for spiritual necessities, which are the heaviest of all, the Lord will hear your cry and will deliver you and supply you.
O poor friend, try your rich God. O helpless one, lean on His help. He has never failed me, and I am sure He will never fail you. Come as a beggar, and God will not refuse you help. Come with no plea but His grace. Jesus is King; will He let you perish of want? What! Did you forget this?

கடவுள்மேல் முழுவதுமாக சார்ந்திருத்தல்
கூப்பிடுகிற எளியவனையும், உதவியற்ற சிறுமையானவனையும் அவர் விடுவிப்பார் (சங்.72:12).
தேவையில் இருப்பின் கூப்பிடுகிறான். அவன் வேறு என்ன செய்யமுடியும்? இதைவாசிப்பவரில் தேவையில் இருப்பவர் உடனே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி கூப்பிடட்டும். ஏனெனில் இதுவே அவர் செய்யக்கூடிய ஞானமான செயல். உங்கள் நண்பர்களிடம் உங்கள் தொல்லைகளைச் சொல்லி அழாதேயுங்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வதுகூட ஆண்டவர் துணைசெய்வதினால்த்தான். நீங்கள் உடனே செய்யக்கூடியது கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவதுதான். வேறு யாரிடமும் ஓடுவதால் பயன் ஏற்படாது.
ஐயோ, எனக்கு நண்பர்களும் உதவி செய்யக்கூடியவர்களும் யாரும் இல்லையே என்று நீங்கள் புலம்புகிறீர்கள். அது நல்லதுதான்.ஆண்டவரே நண்பரும் துணைபுரிபவருமானவர் என்று நீங்கள் அவர்மேல் சாரலாம். இரண்டுவிதமானவர்கள் உதவியும் உங்களுக்குத் தேவை என்று உங்கள் தேவையை இருமடங்காக்குங்கள். இம்மைக்குரிய கிருபைகளுக்காகக்கூட நீங்கள் கடவுளை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடலாம். ஏனெனில் அவர்பிள்ளைகளுக்குவேண்டியதாகவுள்ள அந்தத் தேவைகளுக்காகவும் அவர் கவலைப்படுகிறார். ஆன்மீகத் தேவைகள் அழுத்தும் சுமைபோன்றவை. அவைகளுக்காக நீங்கள் வேண்டிக்கொண்டால் ஆண்டவர் உங்கள் கூப்பிடுதலைக் கேட்டு, உங்களை விடுவிப்பார். உங்களுக்குத் தேவையானவைகளையும்கொடுப்பார்.
இதை வாசிக்கும் ஏழையான நண்பரே, எல்லாம் வளமும் தரத்தக்க ஆண்டவரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டுப் பாருங்கள். உதவியற்றவரே, அவர் உதவியை ஆதாரமாகக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அவர் ஒருபோதும் என்னைக் கைவிட்டதில்லை. உங்களையும் ஒருபோதும்கைவிடமாட்டார் என்று நான் திட்டமாய் நம்புகிறேன். இருப்பவராக ஆண்டவரிடம் செல்லுங்கள். அவர் உங்களுக்கு உதவியளிக்க மறுக்கமாட்டார். அவர் கிருபையையே உங்கள் வேண்டுதலாகக் கொள்ளுங்கள். இயேசு அரசரானவர். நீங்கள் மாள்வுற விட்டுவிடுவாரா? இதை நீங்கள்மறந்துவிட்டீர்களா ?
23. Mai
„Er wird den Armen erretten, der da schreiet, und den Elenden, der keinen Helfer hat.“ Ps. 72, 12.
Der Arme schreit; was kann er anders tun? Sein Schreien wird von Gott gehört; was braucht er anders zu tun? Möge der arme Leser sogleich anfangen zu schreien, denn das wird weise von ihm sein. Schreie nicht in die Ohren der Freunde, denn selbst, wenn sie dir helfen können, ist es nur, weil der Herr sie dazu instandsetzt. Der nächste Weg ist, geraden Weges zu Gott zu gehen und dein Schreien vor Ihn kommen zu lassen. Geradeaus macht den besten Läufer: laufe zum Herrn und nicht zu den Mittel-Ursachen.
„Ach!“ rufst du aus, „ich habe keinen Freund oder Helfer.“ Umso besser; du kannst in beiden Fällen auf Gott vertrauen – wenn du ohne Mittel und wenn du ohne Freunde bist. Lass deine doppelte Not deine doppelte Bitte sein. Sogar um zeitliche Güter darfst du Gott bitten, denn Er sorgt für seine Kinder in diesen zeitlichen Angelegenheiten. Und in den geistlichen Nöten, welche die schwersten von allen sind, will der Herr dein Schreien hören und dich erretten und für dich sorgen.
O, armer Freund, prüfe deinen reichen Gott. O Hilfloser, lehne dich auf seine Hilfe. Er hat mich nie im Stich gelassen, und ich bin sicher, Er wird dich nie im Stich lassen. Komm als ein Bettler, und Gott wird dir seine Hilfe nicht verweigern. Komm und mache nichts geltend als seine Gnade. Jesus ist König, wird Er Dich im Mangel umkommen lassen? – Wie! Vergaßest du dies?
