Rev. 3:20<\/a>)<\/p>\nHere we are at the close of another year, and still the patient Savior stands at man\u2019s door, seeking admission. He has been kept outside a long time. Anyone else would have given up long ago and gone home. But not the Savior. He is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish. He waits with the hope that one day the door will be flung open and He will be welcomed inside.<\/p>\n
It is amazing that anyone would fail to answer the knock of the Lord Jesus. If it were a neighbor, the door would be opened promptly. If it were a salesman, someone would at least give him the courtesy of opening the door and saying, \u201cWe don\u2019t need any!\u201d Certainly if it were the President or the Governor, the family would compete for the privilege of welcoming him. Strange then that when the Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer stands at the door, He is given the cold, silent treatment.<\/p>\n
Man\u2019s refusal is all the more irrational when we realize that the Lord Jesus does not come to rob but rather to give. He comes to give life more abundant.<\/p>\n
A Christian radio preacher once got a late night call from a listener who wanted to stop by for a brief visit. The preacher tried every excuse to dissuade him from coming, but finally relented. As it turned out, the visitor came with a large gift of money to help with the radio expenses. After he left, the preacher said, \u201cI\u2019m so glad I let him in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joe Blinco used to describe a scene where an animated conversation was going on in the living room of a home. Suddenly there was a knock at the front door. One of the family said, \u201cThere\u2019s someone at the door.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another jumped up, went to the door and opened it. Then someone in the living room asked, \u201cWho is it?\u201d Back from the door came the answer. Finally the head of the house shouted, \u201cTell him to come in.\u201d<\/p>\n
That is the Gospel in brief. Listen! There\u2019s Someone at the door. Who is it? It\u2019s none other than the Lord of life and glory, the One who died as a Substitute for us and rose again the third day\u2014the One who is now enthroned in glory and coming soon to take His people home to be with Himself. Tell Him to come in!<\/p>\n

\nund die T\u00fcr \u00f6ffnet, zu dem werde ich hineingehen und mit ihm essen, und er mit

Jetzt sind wir wieder am Ende eines Jahres angelangt, und der geduldige
\nHeiland
\nsteht noch immer an den T\u00fcren der Menschen und bittet um Einlass. Man hat Ihn
\nschon lange Zeit drau\u00dfen stehen lassen. Jeder andere h\u00e4tte schon l\u00e4ngst aufgegeben
\nund w\u00e4re nach Hause gegangen. Aber nicht so der Heiland. Er ist langm\u00fctig und will
\nnicht, dass irgendeiner verloren geht. Er wartet in der Hoffnung, dass eines Tages die
\nT\u00fcr aufgerissen wird und man Ihn drinnen willkommen hei\u00dft.<\/p>\n
Eigentlich ist es erstaunlich, dass \u00fcberhaupt irgendjemand nicht auf das Anklopfen
\ndes Herrn Jesus antwortet. Wenn es ein Nachbar w\u00e4re, w\u00fcrde die T\u00fcr sofort ge\u00f6ffnet.
\nWenn es ein Handelsvertreter w\u00e4re, w\u00fcrde man ihm wenigstens die H\u00f6flichkeit erweisen,
\ndie T\u00fcr aufzumachen und zu sagen:
\n\u00bbWir brauchen nichts!\u00ab Und wenn es sogar
\nder Bundespr\u00e4sident oder der Bundeskanzler w\u00e4re, dann w\u00fcrde die ganze Familie
\ndarum wetteifern, wer das Recht h\u00e4tte, ihn zu begr\u00fc\u00dfen. Und hier, wo der Sch\u00f6pfer,
\nErhalter und Erl\u00f6ser vor der T\u00fcr steht, da ist es doch h\u00f6chst seltsam, dass man Ihn so
\nkalt und schweigend behandelt.<\/p>\n
Der Widerstand des Menschen ist noch unverst\u00e4ndlicher, wenn wir erkennen, dass
\nder Herr Jesus ja nicht kommt, um uns auszurauben, sondern
\num uns etwas zu schenken.
\nEr kommt, um uns Leben in F\u00fclle zu geben.<\/p>\n
Ein christlicher Radioprediger bekam einmal sp\u00e4tabends einen Anruf von einem
\nH\u00f6rer, der noch f\u00fcr einen kurzen Besuch bei ihm vorbeikommen
\nwollte. Der Prediger
\nversuchte es mit verschiedenen Entschuldigungen,
\num den anderen von seinem
\nVorhaben abzubringen, aber schlie\u00dflich lie\u00df er sich doch erweichen. Es stellte sich
\ndann heraus, dass der Besucher mit einer gro\u00dfen Geldspende kam, mit der er die
\nRadiosendungen unterst\u00fctzen wollte. Nachdem er wieder gegangen war, sagte der
\nPrediger: \u00bbIch bin ja so froh, dass ich ihn doch noch hereingelassen habe!\u00ab<\/p>\n
Joe Blinco beschrieb \u00f6fter die folgende Szene: Es ist gerade eine angeregte
\nUnterhaltung
\nim Wohnzimmer eines Hauses im Gange. Pl\u00f6tzlich klopft es an der Haust\u00fcr.
\nJemand aus der Familie sagt: \u00bbDa ist einer an der T\u00fcr.\u00ab<\/p>\n
Ein anderer springt auf, geht zur T\u00fcr und \u00f6ffnet sie. Dann fragt einer aus dem
\nWohnzimmer: \u00bbWer ist es denn?\u00ab Von der T\u00fcr her kommt die Antwort. Und der
\nHausherr ruft zur\u00fcck: \u00bbSag ihm doch, er soll hereinkommen.\u00ab<\/p>\n
Das ist das Evangelium in Kurzfassung. H\u00f6r\u2019 nur! Da ist jemand an der T\u00fcr. Wer
\nist es? Es ist niemand anders als der Herr des Lebens und der Herrlichkeit, der Eine,
\nder als Stellvertreter f\u00fcr uns gestorben und am dritten Tag wieder auferstanden ist,
\nder Eine, der jetzt in Herrlichkeit zur Rechten des Vaters sitzt und der bald wiederkommen
\nwird, um die Seinen zu sich heimzuholen. Sag Ihm doch, dass Er hereinkommen
