    1<\/span> And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
    \n2<\/span> And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar<\/span>; and they dwelt there.
    \n3<\/span> And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
    \n4<\/span> And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
    \n5<\/span> And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
    \n6<\/span> And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
    \n7<\/span> Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
    \n8<\/span> So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
    \n9<\/span> Therefore is the name of it called Babel<\/span>; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
    \n10<\/span> These are the generations of Shem<\/span>: Shem<\/span> was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad<\/span> two years after the flood:
    \n11<\/span> And Shem<\/span> lived after he begat Arphaxad<\/span> five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n12<\/span> And Arphaxad<\/span> lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah<\/span>:
    \n13<\/span> And Arphaxad<\/span> lived after he begat Salah<\/span> four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n14<\/span> And Salah<\/span> lived thirty years, and begat Eber<\/span>:
    \n15<\/span> And Salah<\/span> lived after he begat Eber<\/span> four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n16<\/span> And Eber<\/span> lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg<\/span>:
    \n17<\/span> And Eber<\/span> lived after he begat Peleg<\/span> four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n18<\/span> And Peleg<\/span> lived thirty years, and begat Reu<\/span>:
    \n19<\/span> And Peleg<\/span> lived after he begat Reu<\/span> two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n20<\/span> And Reu<\/span> lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug<\/span>:
    \n21<\/span> And Reu<\/span> lived after he begat Serug<\/span> two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n22<\/span> And Serug<\/span> lived thirty years, and begat Nahor<\/span>:
    \n23<\/span> And Serug<\/span> lived after he begat Nahor<\/span> two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n24<\/span> And Nahor<\/span> lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah<\/span>:
    \n25<\/span> And Nahor<\/span> lived after he begat Terah<\/span> an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.
    \n26<\/span> And Terah<\/span> lived seventy years, and begat Abram<\/span>, Nahor<\/span>, and Haran<\/span>.
    \n27<\/span> Now these are the generations of Terah<\/span>: Terah<\/span> begat Abram<\/span>, Nahor<\/span>, and Haran<\/span>; and Haran<\/span> begat Lot<\/span>.
    \n28<\/span> And Haran<\/span> died before his father Terah<\/span> in the land of his nativity, in Ur<\/span> of the Chaldees.
    \n29<\/span> And Abram<\/span> and Nahor<\/span> took them wives: the name of Abram<\/span>‘s wife was Sarai<\/span>; and the name of Nahor<\/span>‘s wife, Milcah<\/span>, the daughter of Haran<\/span>, the father of Milcah<\/span>, and the father of Iscah<\/span>.
    \n30<\/span> But Sarai<\/span> was barren; she had no child.
    \n31<\/span> And Terah<\/span> took Abram<\/span> his son, and Lot<\/span> the son of Haran<\/span> his son’s son, and Sarai<\/span> his daughter in law, his son Abram<\/span>‘s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur<\/span> of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan<\/span>; and they came unto Haran<\/span>, and dwelt there.
