    1<\/span> And God said unto Jacob<\/span>, Arise, go up to Bethel<\/span>, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau<\/span> thy brother.
    \n2<\/span> Then Jacob<\/span> said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
    \n3<\/span> And let us arise, and go up to Bethel<\/span>; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
    \n4<\/span> And they gave unto Jacob<\/span> all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob<\/span> hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
    \n5<\/span> And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob<\/span>.
    \n6<\/span> So Jacob<\/span> came to Luz<\/span>, which is in the land of Canaan<\/span>, that is, Bethel<\/span>, he and all the people that were with him.
    \n7<\/span> And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel<\/span>: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
    \n8<\/span> But Deborah<\/span> Rebekah<\/span>‘s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel<\/span> under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth<\/span>.
    \n9<\/span> And God appeared unto Jacob<\/span> again, when he came out of Padanaram<\/span>, and blessed him.
    \n10<\/span> And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob<\/span>: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob<\/span>, but Israel<\/span> shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel<\/span>.
    \n11<\/span> And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
    \n12<\/span> And the land which I gave Abraham<\/span> and Isaac<\/span>, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
    \n13<\/span> And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
    \n14<\/span> And Jacob<\/span> set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
    \n15<\/span> And Jacob<\/span> called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel<\/span>.
    \n16<\/span> And they journeyed from Bethel<\/span>; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath<\/span>: and Rachel<\/span> travailed, and she had hard labour.
    \n17<\/span> And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
    \n18<\/span> And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni<\/span>: but his father called him Benjamin<\/span>.
    \n19<\/span> And Rachel<\/span> died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath<\/span>, which is Bethlehem<\/span>.
    \n20<\/span> And Jacob<\/span> set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel<\/span>‘s grave unto this day.
    \n21<\/span> And Israel<\/span> journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar<\/span>.
    \n22<\/span> And it came to pass, when Israel<\/span> dwelt in that land, that Reuben<\/span> went and lay with Bilhah<\/span> his father’s concubine: and Israel<\/span> heard it. Now the sons of Jacob<\/span> were twelve:
    \n23<\/span> The sons of Leah<\/span>; Reuben<\/span>, Jacob<\/span>‘s firstborn, and Simeon<\/span>, and Levi<\/span>, and Judah<\/span>, and Issachar<\/span>, and Zebulun<\/span>:
    \n24<\/span> The sons of Rachel<\/span>; Joseph<\/span>, and Benjamin<\/span>:
    \n25<\/span> And the sons of Bilhah<\/span>, Rachel<\/span>‘s handmaid; Dan<\/span>, and Naphtali<\/span>:
    \n26<\/span> And the sons of Zilpah<\/span>, Leah<\/span>‘s handmaid; Gad<\/span>, and Asher<\/span>: these are the sons of Jacob<\/span>, which were born to him in Padanaram<\/span>.
    \n27<\/span> And Jacob<\/span> came unto Isaac<\/span> his father unto Mamre<\/span>, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron<\/span><\/span>, where Abraham<\/span> and Isaac<\/span> sojourned.
    \n28<\/span> And the days of Isaac<\/span> were an hundred and fourscore years.
    \n29<\/span> And Isaac<\/span> gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau<\/span> and Jacob<\/span> buried him.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
