    1<\/span> And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel<\/span> king of Shinar<\/span>, Arioch<\/span> king of Ellasar<\/span>, Chedorlaomer<\/span> king of Elam<\/span>, and Tidal<\/span> king of nations;
    \n2<\/span> That these made war with Bera<\/span> king of Sodom<\/span>, and with Birsha<\/span> king of Gomorrah<\/span>, Shinab<\/span> king of Admah<\/span>, and Shemeber<\/span> king of Zeboiim<\/span>, and the king of Bela<\/span>, which is Zoar<\/span>.
    \n3<\/span> All these were joined together in the vale_of_Siddim<\/span>, which is the salt_sea<\/span>.
    \n4<\/span> Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer<\/span>, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
    \n5<\/span> And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer<\/span>, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth_Karnaim<\/span>, and the Zuzims in Ham<\/span><\/span>, and the Emims in Shaveh_Kiriathaim<\/span>,
    \n6<\/span> And the Horites in their mount_Seir<\/span>, unto Elparan<\/span>, which is by the wilderness.
    \n7<\/span> And they returned, and came to Enmishpat<\/span>, which is Kadesh<\/span>, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar<\/span>.
    \n8<\/span> And there went out the king of Sodom<\/span>, and the king of Gomorrah<\/span>, and the king of Admah<\/span>, and the king of Zeboiim<\/span>, and the king of Bela<\/span> ( the same is Zoar<\/span>; ) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;
    \n9<\/span> With Chedorlaomer<\/span> the king of Elam<\/span>, and with Tidal<\/span> king of nations, and Amraphel<\/span> king of Shinar<\/span>, and Arioch<\/span> king of Ellasar<\/span>; four kings with five.
    \n10<\/span> And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom<\/span> and Gomorrah<\/span> fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
    \n11<\/span> And they took all the goods of Sodom<\/span> and Gomorrah<\/span>, and all their victuals, and went their way.
    \n12<\/span> And they took Lot<\/span>, Abram<\/span>‘s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom<\/span>, and his goods, and departed.
    \n13<\/span> And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram<\/span> the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre<\/span> the Amorite, brother of Eshcol<\/span>, and brother of Aner<\/span>: and these were confederate with Abram<\/span>.
    \n14<\/span> And when Abram<\/span> heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan<\/span>.
    \n15<\/span> And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah<\/span>, which is on the left hand of Damascus<\/span>.
    \n16<\/span> And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot<\/span>, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
    \n17<\/span> And the king of Sodom<\/span> went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer<\/span>, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
    \n18<\/span> And Melchizedek<\/span> king of Salem<\/span> brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
    \n19<\/span> And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram<\/span> of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
    \n20<\/span> And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
    \n21<\/span> And the king of Sodom<\/span> said unto Abram<\/span>, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
    \n22<\/span> And Abram<\/span> said to the king of Sodom<\/span>, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
    \n23<\/span> That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram<\/span> rich:
    \n24<\/span> Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner<\/span>, Eshcol<\/span>, and Mamre<\/span>; let them take their portion.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
