“He is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.” (Song of Solomon 5:16)
The devoted, loyal, steadfast love of the Shulamite maiden for her beloved pictures the kind of love which we should have for the Eternal Lover of our souls. Notice the following particulars.
First, she loved everything about him. She extols the beauties of his complexion, head, hair, eyes, cheeks, lips, hands, body, legs, countenance and mouth (5:10-16). We, of course, do not think of the physical features of the Lord Jesus, but we should be just as articulate in extolling His moral excellencies.
She thought of him day and night. Whether she was working in the vineyard or retiring for the night, or even when she was dreaming, he was the one who filled her vision and occupied her mind. It is good for us if our love for the Lord Jesus is so great that He fills our hearts from morning to evening.
She had eyes only for him. Others might try to woo and win her with words of glowing admiration, but she would redirect the praise and apply it to her beloved. So, when the voice of the world seeks to allure us, we should say, “O worldly pomp and glory, your charms are spread in vain./ I’ve heard a sweeter story, I’ve found a truer gain./ Where Christ a place prepareth, there is my loved abode./ There shall I gaze on Jesus. There shall I dwell with God.”
She could talk about him most readily. Her mouth spoke out of the abundance of her heart. Her lips were the pen of a ready writer. Ideally we should be able to talk about our Lord more readily and eloquently than any other subject. Unfortunately it is not always so.
She felt her own unworthiness very keenly. She apologized for her unkempt appearance, for her ordinariness, and for her unresponsiveness to him. When we think of our sinfulness, our proneness to wander, and our disobedience, we have even more cause to wonder that Christ would ever be interested in us.
Her great delight was to be with him. She ardently longed for the time when he would come to claim her as his bride. With how much greater longing should we look forward to the coming of the Heavenly Bridegroom, that we might be with Him for all eternity.
In the meantime, her heart seemed to be a helpless captive, and she confessed that she was sick with love. She did not feel she could contain any more. Let us aspire to have hearts that are captivated by Jesus, and that are filled to overflowing with love for Him!

நேசர் மேல் பொங்கும் அன்பு
சூலமித்தியாள் தன் நேசரிடம் பற்றும், உண்மையும், உறுதியும் உடைய அன்பு கொண்டிருந்தாள். நம்முடைய ஆத்துமாக்களின் நித்திய நேசரிடம் அத்தகைய அன்பை நாம் செலுத்த வேண்டியவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோம். கீழ்காணும் விவரங்களைக் கவனிக்கவும்.
முதலாவது, தனது நேசரை முற்றிலுமாக அவள் விரும்புகிறாள். அவருடைய நிறம், தலை, முடி, கண்கள், கன்னங்கள், உதடுகள், கைகள், உடல், கால்கள், முகப்பொலிவு, வாய், அனைத்துக் கூறுகளையும் அவள் வானளாவப் புகழ்கிறாள் (உன்.5:10-16). இவ்விதமாக, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் உடற்கூறுகளைக் குறித்து நாம் சிந்திப்பதில்லை என்பது உண்மையே, எனினும் அவருடைய ஒழுக்கத்தின் மேன்மைகளை எடுத்து இயம்புகிறவர்களாக நாம் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
இரவும் பகலும் அவள் தன் நேசரைக் குறித்தே நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாள். திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்தில் வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்த வேளையிலும், இரவிலே படுத்திருக்கும்போதும், கனவு காண்கிறபோதும், அவளுடைய காட்சியிலும், உள்ளத்திலும், அவரே நிறைந்திருந்தார். காலை முதல் இரவு வரை நமது இருதயங்களைக் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மீது நாம் கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்பினால் நிறைந்திருப்போமாயின் அதுவே நல்லது.
அவரையே அவள் காண்கள் கண்டன. பாராட்டும் சொற்களைக் கூறி அவளைக் கவர்ந்திழுக்கப் பலர் முயற்சி செய்தனர். ஆயினும் அவள் வேறு எவரையும் போற்றாது தன் நேசரையே போற்றிக்கொண்டு இருந்தாள். ஆகவே, உலகின் தொனி நம்மைக் கவரும்படி அழைக்கும் வேளையில் இங்ஙனம் பதிலுரைப்போம்.
புவிதரும் மேன்மை மகிமை கவர்ச்சி அனைத்தும் மாயையே,
இனிதென அழைக்கும் அன்பின் குரலினைக் கேட்டேன், மகிழ்ந்தேன்.
எனக்கென ஓரிடம் ஆயத்தம் செய்தார், அதுவே உல்லாச உறைவிடம்.
காணுவோம் இயேசுவை, அவர்சாயல் அணிந்தே நிலைபேறு அடைவோம்.
தன் நேசரைக் குறித்துப் பேச அவள் எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தம் உடையவளாக இருந்தாள். அவளுடைய இருதயத்தின் நிறைவினால் அவளுடைய வாய் பேசிற்று. அவளுடைய நாவு விரைவாய் எழுதுகிறவனுடைய எழுத்தாணியாக இருந்தது. கர்த்தரைக் குறித்து நாம் எப்பொழுதும் நாவன்மையோடு பேச ஆயத்தமுடையவர்களாக இருப்பதே நன்சிறந்ததாகும். மற்ற பொருட்களைப் பற்றிப் பேச நாம் ஆயத்தம் உடையவர்களாயிருந்தும், கர்த்தரைக் குறித்துப் பேச ஆயத்தமற்றவர்களாக இருப்பது எத்தனை வருத்தத்திற்குரியது.
தன்னுடைய தகுதியின்மையை அவள் நன்கு அறிந்திருந்தாள். தன்னுடைய அழகுபடுத்தப்படாத தோற்றத்தையும், தனது சாதாரண நிலையையும், நேசருக்கு மறுமொழி பகர அறியாதவளாக தான் இருந்ததையும் குறித்து அவள் வருந்தினாள். நமது பாவ நிலையையும், வழிவிலகிச் செல்லக் கூடியவர்களாக நாம் இருப்பதையும், நமது கீழ்படியாமையையும் நாம் எண்ணிப் பார்க்கின்ற வேளையில், கிறிஸ்து நம்மிடத்தில் ஆர்வம் கொண்டிருக்கிறாரே என்று எண்ணி அதிசயிக்கிறோம்.
தன் நேசரோடு இருப்பதே அவளுக்கு மட்டற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. எப்பொழுது தன்னை மணவாட்டியாக ஏற்றக்கொள்ள வருவார் என்று எண்ணி அந்த நேரத்தை வாஞ்சையோடு எதிர்நோக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தாள். நம்முடைய விண்ணுலக மணவாளனோடு என்றென்றும் உடன் இருக்கப் போகிறதற்கு ஏதுவாக அவருடைய வருகையை நாம் ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்ப்பது எத்தனை மேலானதாக இருக்கும்.
அதுவரை அவளுடைய இருதயம் சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு, அவர்மீது கொண்ட அன்பினால் நோய்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்று அறிக்கை செய்தாள். இன்னும் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்க முடியாது எனக் கூறினாள். இயேசுவின் சிந்தனையால் நமது இருதயங்கள் சிறைபடட்டும். அவர்மீது கொண்ட அன்பினால் இருதயங்கள் பொங்கி வழியட்டும்.

»Alles an ihm ist begehrenswert. Das ist mein Geliebter und das mein Freund, ihr Töchter Jerusalems!« Hohelied 5,16
Die hingebungsvolle, treue, unerschütterliche Liebe Sulamiths zu ihrem Geliebten ist ein Bild für die Art von Liebe, die wir dem Ewigen Liebhaber unserer Seelen entgegenbringen sollten. Dabei müssen wir die folgenden Besonderheiten beachten.
Erstens liebte sie an ihm alles. Sie besang die Schönheit seines Gesichtes, des Kopfes und des Haares, der Augen, Wangen und Lippen, der Hände, des Körpers, der Beine, der Haltung und des Mundes (siehe Hohelied 5,10-16). Für uns geht es natürlich nicht um die äußerlichen Kennzeichen des Herrn Jesus, aber wir sollten uns genauso ausführlich und begeistert äußern, wenn wir Seine Vorzüge preisen.
Sie dachte Tag und Nacht an ihn. Ob sie im Weinberg arbeitete oder sich zum Schlafen niederlegte, ja selbst noch, wenn sie träumte, war er der Einzige, der ihre Phantasie beflügelte und ihre Gedanken beschäftigte. Auch für uns ist es gut, wenn unsere Liebe zu dem Herrn Jesus so groß ist, dass Er unsere Herzen von morgens bis abends ausfüllt.
Sie hatte nur Augen für ihn. Andere mochten vielleicht versuchen, ihr den Hof zu machen und sie mit Worten glühender Bewunderung für sich zu gewinnen, aber sie bezog diese Lobsprüche gar nicht auf sich, sondern wendete sie auf ihren Geliebten an. Darum sollten auch wir sagen, wenn die Welt versucht, uns zu verlocken: »Ich bin durch die Welt gegangen, und die Welt ist schön und groß, und doch zieht mein Verlangen mich weit von der Erde los … Es ist eine Ruhe gefunden für alle fern und nah in des Gotteslammes Wunden am Kreuze auf Golgatha.«
Sie redete bereitwillig von ihm. Ihr Mund sprach aus, wovon ihr Herz überfloss. Ihre Lippen waren wie der Griffel eines geübten Schreibers (Psalm 45,2). Wir sollten eigentlich auch über unseren Herrn bereitwilliger und beredter sprechen können als über jedes andere Thema. Leider ist das bei uns nicht immer so.
Sie empfand ihre eigene Unwürdigkeit sehr intensiv. Sie entschuldigte sich für ihr ungepflegtes Äußeres, für ihre Schlichtheit, dafür, dass sie nicht gleich auf den Geliebten reagierte. Wenn wir an unsere Sündhaftigkeit denken, an unsere Neigung, von Gott wegzulaufen, an unseren Ungehorsam, dann haben wir noch viel mehr Grund, uns darüber zu wundern, dass Christus sich überhaupt für uns interessiert hat.
Ihr größtes Vergnügen war es, mit ihm zusammen zu sein. Sie sehnte sich glühend nach dem Augenblick, in dem er kommen würde, um sie als seine Braut zu sich zu holen. Mit wie viel größerem Verlangen sollten wir uns auf die Wiederkunft des himmlischen Bräutigams freuen, damit wir in alle Ewigkeit mit Ihm zusammen sein können!
In der Zeit bis dahin war ihr Herz wie ein hilfloser Gefangener, und sie bekannte, dass sie vor Liebe ganz krank wäre. Sie konnte die Sehnsucht fast nicht mehr ertragen. Wir wollen danach trachten, dass auch unser Herz gefangen genommen wird von Jesus und bis zum Überlaufen mit der Liebe zu Ihm erfüllt wird!
