கேட்பதற்கு மேலே அழுத்தவும் !

“This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” (Exodus 12:2)
New Year’s resolutions are good but fragile, that is, easily broken. New Year’s prayers are better; they ascend to the throne of God and set answering wheels in motion. As we come to the beginning of another year, we would do well to make the following prayer requests our own: Lord Jesus, I rededicate myself afresh to You today. I want you to take my life this coming year and use it for Your glory. “Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.”
I pray that You will keep me from sin, from anything that will bring dishonor to Your Name.
Keep me teachable by the Holy Spirit. I want to move forward for You. Don’t let me settle in a rut.
May my motto this year be, “He must increase; I must decrease.” The glory must all be Yours. Help me not to touch it. Teach me to make every decision a matter of prayer. I dread the thought of leaning on my own understanding. “I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps,” Jeremiah 10:23.
May I die to the world and even to the approval or blame of loved ones or friends. Give me a single, pure desire to do the things that please Your heart.
Keep me from gossip and criticism of others. Rather help me to speak what is edifying and profitable.
Lead me to needy souls. May I become a friend of sinners, as You are. Give me tears of compassion for the perishing. “Let me look on the crowd as my Savior did, till my eyes with tears grow dim. Let me view with pity the wandering sheep, and love them for love of Him.”
Lord Jesus, keep me from becoming cold, bitter or cynical in spite of anything that may happen to me in the Christian life.
Guide me in my stewardship of money. Help me to be a good steward of everything you have entrusted to me.
Help me to remember moment by moment that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. May this tremendous truth influence all my behavior.
And, Lord Jesus, I pray that this may be the year of Your return. I long to see Your face and to fall at Your feet in worship. During the coming year, may the blessed hope stay fresh in my heart, disengaging me from anything that would hold me here and keeping me on the tiptoes of expectancy. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

புத்தாண்டு மற்றாட்டு
புத்தாண்டுத் தீர்மானங்கள் நல்லவை. ஆயினும் எளிதில் மீறக்கூடியவை. புத்தாண்டு மன்றாட்டுகள் சிறந்தவை. இறைவனின் இருப்பிடம் சென்று, விடையினை ஏந்திவரும் வானகத்தை முடுக்கிவிடுகின்றன. புதியதொரு ஆண்டின் தொடக்கத்திற்கு வந்திருக்கும் நாம் கீழ்க்காணும் குறிப்புகளை நமது மன்றாட்டுகளாக ஏறெடுத்தல் நன்று:
கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவே, இன்றைய நாளில் என்னை மீண்டும் உமக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கிறேன். இவ்வாண்டில் என் வாழ்வைத் தூய்மையாக்கி உம் மகிமைக்கெனப் பயன்படுத்துவீராக.
உம்முடைய திருப்பெயருக்கு அவப்பெயரைக் கொண்டுவரக்கூடிய எல்லாப் பாவத்தினின்றும் என்னை விலக்கிக் காத்திடுவீராக. தூய ஆவியானவரால் நான் கற்பிக்கப்படத்தக்க நிலையில் என்னைக் காத்திடுவீராக. நான் ஊக்கமற்றுப் போய்விடாமல், முன்னேறிச்செல்ல விரும்புகிறேன். அவர் பெருகவும் நான் சிறுகவும் வேண்டும் என்பதே எனது இவ்வாண்டு குறிக்கோளாக இருக்கட்டும். எல்லா மகிமையும் உமக்கே உரித்தாகுக. அதில் ஒன்றையும் தொடாதபடி நான் வாழ உதவுவீராக. நான் எடுக்கும் தீர்மானம் ஒவ்வொன்றும் எனது ஜெபத்தின் பொருளாக விளங்க எனக்கு கற்றுத்தாரும். என்னுடைய சுய அறிவைச் சார்ந்துகொள்வேனோ என்னும் எண்ணம் என்னை அச்சுறுத்துகிறது. மனிதனுடைய வழி அவனாலே ஆகிறதல்லவென்றும், தன் நடைகளை நடத்துவது நடக்கிறவனாலே ஆகிறதல்லவென்றும் அறிவேன் (எரே.10:23).
இவ்வுலகத்திற்கு இறந்தவனாக என்னைக் காணச்செய்வீராக. எனக்கு அன்பானவர்களும், நண்பர்களும் வழங்கும் வாழ்த்துதலுக்கும், பழிச்சொல்லிற்கும் நான் மரிப்பேனாக. ஓன்றே எந்தன் தூய விருப்பம். அது உமது இருதயத்தை களிகூரச் செய்வதாகும். புறங்கூறுதலுக்கும், குறை கூறுதலுக்கும் என்னை விலக்கி, படிப்பினையூட்டுவதும், பயனுள்ளதுமான சொற்களைப் பேசச்செய்வீராக.
தேவையுள்ள ஆத்துமாக்களிடம் என்னை நடத்துவீராக. பாவிகளின் நண்பரான உம்மைப்போல என்னை மாற்றுவீராக. அழிந்துபோகிறவர்களைக் குறித்து அழச்செய்வீராக. திரளான மக்களை எனது மீட்பர் கண்டதுபோல நானும் காணவேண்டுமே. கண்ணீரினால் என் பார்வை மங்கவேண்டுமே. அலைந்துதிரியும் ஆடுகளிடம் பரிவுகாட்டி, என் நேசரின் நிமித்தம் அன்புகூர வேண்டுமே.
கர்த்தாவே, என் கிறிஸ்த வாழ்வில் இடர்பாடு எது நேரிடினும், நான் குளிர்ந்து, கசந்து, குறைகூறுகிறவனாகப் போய்விடாதபடி காத்திடுவீராக. என்னிடத்தில் நீர் ஒப்புவித்திருக்கிற அனைத்தையும் சீராக பராமரிக்கவும், பணத்தை தகுதியாய் செலவழிக்கவும் என்னை தகுதியாக வழிநடத்துவீராக. ஓவ்வொருவேளையும் எனது சரீரம் தூய ஆவியானவரின் ஆலயம் என்று நான் நினைவுகூர உதவிசெய்வீராக. இப்பேருண்மை எனது நடத்தையை சீர்படுத்துவதாக.
கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவே, இந்த ஆண்டு உம்முடைய வருகையின் ஆண்டாக விளங்குவதாக. உமது திருமுகத்தைக் கண்டு, உமது காலடியில் விழுந்து தொழுதிட வாஞ்சிக்கிறேன். இவ்வாண்டினில், இவ்வினிய நம்பிக்கை என் இதயத்தில் புதிய பொலிவுடன் நிலைத்திருப்பதாக. இவ்வுலகம் என்னை இறுக்கிப்பிடிக்க முயலும் அனைத்திற்கும் இடம் கொடாமல், உமது வருகையை எதிர்நோக்கிய நடையுடையோனாய்க் காத்திடுவீராக. ஆமென், கர்த்தராகி இயேசுவே வாரும்.

»Dieser Monat soll euch der Anfang der Monate sein, er soll euch der erste sein von den Monaten des Jahres.« 2. Mose 12,2
Vorsätze zum Neuen Jahr sind gut, aber zerbrechlich, d.h. sie werden leicht gebrochen. Gebete zum Neuen Jahr sind besser; denn sie steigen empor zum Thron Gottes und setzen die Räder der Erhörung in Bewegung. Wenn wir heute am Beginn eines neuen Jahres stehen, sollten wir uns die folgenden Gebetsanliegen zu Eigen machen:
Herr Jesus, ich weihe mich Dir heute ganz neu. Ich will, dass Du mein Leben im kommenden Jahr in die Hand nimmst und es zu Deiner Ehre gebrauchst. »Nimm mein Leben, Jesu, Dir übergeb ich’s für und für.«
Ich bitte Dich, mich vor Sünde zu bewahren und allem, was Deinem NamenirgendwieUnehre macht.
Lass mich für den Heiligen Geist belehrbar bleiben. Ich möchte für Dich vorwärts gehen. Lass mich nicht in den alten Trott verfallen.
Mein Wahlspruch für dieses Jahr sei: »Er muss wachsen, ich aber abnehmen.« Alle Ehre soll und muss Dir gehören. Hilf mir, sie nicht für mich selbst zu begehren. Lehre mich, jede Entscheidung zu einer Sache des Gebets zu machen. Ich habe Angst davor, mich auf meinen eigenen Verstand zu stützen. »Ich weiß, Herr, dass nicht beim Menschen sein Weg steht, nicht bei dem Manne, der da wandelt, seinen Gang zu richten« (Jeremia 10,23).
Möge ich der Welt sterben, ja auch dem Lob oder Tadel von Freunden und Bekannten. Gib mir eine ungeteilte, reine Sehnsucht, das zu tun, was Dir wohlgefällt. Bewahre mich davor, andere zu kritisieren und schlecht über sie zu reden. Hilf mir, dass meine Worte zum Nutzen und zur Auferbauung sind.
Führe mich zu Seelen in Not. Ich möchte ein Freund der Sünder werden, wie Du es bist. Gib mir Tränen des Erbarmens für die Verlorenen. »Lass mich sehen die Mengen, wie mein Heiland es tat, bis meine Augen vor Tränen sind blind. Lass voll Mitleid mich blicken auf die irrenden Schafe und sie lieben aus Liebe zu Ihm.« Herr Jesus, bewahre mich davor, kalt, bitter oder zynisch zu werden, gleichgültig, was in meinem Leben als Christ auch geschehen mag.
Leite mich in meinem Umgang mit Geld. Hilf mir, ein guter Verwalter aller Dinge zu sein, die Du mir anvertraut hast. Hilf mir, jeden Augenblick daran zu denken, dass mein Leib ein Tempel des Heiligen
Geistes ist. Möge diese gewaltige Wahrheit mein ganzes Verhalten beeinflussen. Und, Herr Jesus, ich bete, dass dies das Jahr Deiner Wiederkunft sei. Ich sehne mich danach, Dein Angesicht zu sehen und in Anbetung vor Dir niederzufallen. Möge im kommenden Jahr diese glückselige Hoffnung in meinem Herzen frisch bleiben und mich von allem loslösen, was mich an diese Erde fesselt, ja, möge sie mich immer auf den Zehenspitzen der Erwartung halten. »Amen; komm, Herr Jesus!«
