God First, Then Extras
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
See how the Bible opens: “In the beginning God.” Let your life open in the same way. Seek with your whole soul, first and foremost, the kingdom of God, as the place of your citizenship, and His righteousness as the character of your life. As for the rest, it will come from the Lord Himself without your being anxious concerning it. All that is needful for this life and godliness “shall be added unto you.”
What a promise this is! Food, raiment, home, and so forth, God undertakes to add to you while you seek Him. You mind His business, and He will mind yours. If you want paper and string, you get them given in when you buy more important goods; and just so all that we need of earthly things we shall have thrown in with the kingdom. He who is an heir of salvation shall not die of starvation; and he who clothes his soul with the righteousness of God cannot be left of the Lord with a naked body. Away with carking care. Set all your mind upon seeking the Lord. Covetousness is poverty, and anxiety is misery: trust in God is an estate, and likeness of God is a heavenly inheritance. Lord, I seek Thee; be found of me.

முதலாவது கடவுள் பின் மற்றவை
முதலாவது தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தையும் அவருடைய நீதியையும் தேடுங்கள். அப்பொழுது இவைகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குக்கூடக் கொடுக்கப்படும் (மத்.6:33).
திருமறை எப்படித் தெடங்குகிறது என்று பாருங்கள். ஆதியிலே தேவன் என்று தொடங்குகிறது. உங்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையும் அவ்விதமே தொடங்கப்படும். முதலாவது உங்களுடைய முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் Nதுவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை உங்கள் குடியுரிமைத்தொகுதிஎன்றும் அவர் நீதியை உங்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையின் சிறப்பு இயல்பு என்றும் தேடுங்கள். மீதியைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் கவலைப்பட வேண்டியதில்லை. அவை ஆண்டவரிடமிருந்தே உங்களை வந்தடையும். இந்த வாழ்க்கைக்குத் தேவையான எல்லாமும் கடவுள் பற்றும் உங்களுக்குக் கூடக்கொடுக்கப்படும்.
இது எப்படிப்பட்ட வாக்குறுதி என்று நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். நீங்கள் கடவுளைத்தேடும் போது அவர் உணவு, உடை, இருப்பிடம் எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதாக ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார். நீங்கள் அவர் வேலையைச் செய்யுங்கள். அவர் உங்களைக்கவனித்துக் கொள்வார். நீங்கள் ஏதாவதொரு முக்கியமான பொருளை வாங்கும் போது உங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய கயிறும் காகிதமும் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. அதே விதமாக தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தோடு உங்கள் உலகப்பிரகாரமான தேவைகளும் பூர்த்தி செய்யப்படும். இரட்சிப்புக்கு உரிமையானவன்பட்டினியால் மாண்டுபோவதில்லை. தன் ஆன்மாவுக்கு நீதியின் ஆடைகளைத் தரித்துக் கொள்கிறவனை கடவுள் ஆடையில்லாத உடம்போடு இருக்க விடமாட்டார். கவலைப்படுவதை விட்டு ஒழியுங்கள். முழு மனதோடும் தேவனைத் தேடுங்கள். பிறர் பொருளை இச்சித்தல் வறுமையாகும். கவலைப்படுதல்ஆழ்துயர் நிலையாகும். கடவுளை நம்புதல் சொத்தாகும். கடவுளைப்போல் இருத்தல் வழி வழிச் சொத்தாகும். ஆண்டவரே நான் உம்மைத் தேடுகிறேன் எனக்குத் தென்படும்.

„Trachtet am ersten nach dem Reich Gottes und nach seiner Gerechtigkeit; so wird euch solches alles zufallen.“ Mt. 6, 33.
Seht, wie die Bibel beginnt: „Am Anfang Gott *) .“ Lasst euer Leben in derselben Weise beginnen. Trachtet mit eurer ganzen Seele zuerst und zuvorderst nach dem Reich Gottes als dem Ort eures Bürgerrechtes, und nach seiner Gerechtigkeit als dem Stempel eures ganzen Lebens. Und das übrige wird von dem Herrn selber kommen, ohne dass ihr ängstlich darum sorgt. Alles, was zum Leben und göttlichen Wandel nötig ist, „soll uns zufallen“.
Was für eine Verheißung ist dies! Nahrung, Kleidung, Haus u. s. w. will Gott euch zufallen lassen, während ihr Ihn sucht. Ihr sorgt für seine Sache, und Er wird für die eure sorgen. Wenn ihr Papier und Bindfaden braucht, so bekommt ihr diese dazu, wenn ihr wichtigere Güter kauft; und ebenso soll uns alles, was wir an irdischen Dingen nötig haben, mit dem Reich Gottes zugegeben werden. Wer ein Erbe des Reiches ist, soll nicht an Hunger sterben; und wer seine Seele mit der Gerechtigkeit Gottes bekleidet, kann nicht von dem Herrn mit einem nackten Körper gelassen werden. Hinweg mit der nagenden Sorge, und richtet eure ganze Seele darauf, den Herrn zu suchen. Geldgier ist Armut, und Ängstlichkeit ist Elend! Vertrauen auf Gott ist ein Besitztum, und Ähnlichkeit mit Gott ist ein himmlisches Erbe. Herr, ich suche Dich, lass Dich von mir finden.
