God is a Sanctuary
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. (Ezekiel 11:16)
Banished from the public means of grace, we are not removed from the grace of the means. The Lord who places His people where they feel as exiles will Himself be with them and be to them all that they could have had at home, in the place of their solemn assemblies. Take this to yourselves, O ye who are called to wander!
God is to His people a place of refuge. They find sanctuary with Him from every adversary, He is their place of worship, too. He is with them as with Jacob when he slept in the open field, and rising, said, “Surely God was in this place,” To them also He will be a sanctuary of quite, like the Holy of Holies, which was the noiseless abode of the Eternal. They shall be quiet from fear of evil.
God Himself, in Christ Jesus, is the sanctuary of mercy. The Ark of the Covenant is the Lord Jesus, and Aaron’s rod, the pot of manna, the tables of the law, all are in Christ our sanctuary. In God we find the shrine of holiness and of communion. What more do we need? O Lord, fulfill this promise and be ever to us as a little sanctuary!

கடவுள் ஒரு புகலிடம்
ஆகையால் நான் அவர்களைத் தூரமாகப் புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே துரத்தியிருந்தாலும், நான்அவர்களைத் தேசங்களிலே சிதறடித்திருந்தாலும், நான் அவர்கள் போன தேசங்களில் அவர்களுக்குக் கொஞ்ச காலத்துக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலமாக இருப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல் (எசேக்.11:16).
வெளிப்படையாகக் கடவுளின் அருளை இழந்துவிட்டதுபோல காணப்பட்டாலும், நாம் அவர் அருள் துணையை இழந்துவிடவில்லை என்று அறியவேண்டும். அந்நியநாட்டிற்கு மக்களைத் துரத்திவிடும் கடவுள் அவர்களோடு அங்கேயும் இருப்பார். சொந்த நாட்டில் அவர் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலங்களில் கடவுள் எப்படிப்பட்டவராக இருந்தாரோ அவ்விதமெல்லாம் இருப்பார். அலைந்து திரிவதற்காகெனத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களே, இதைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
கடவுள் அவர் மக்களுக்கு அடைக்கலம் அளிப்பவர். எதிரிகளிடம் இருந்து தப்பி ஓடுகிறவர்களுக்குப் புகலிடம் ஆனவர். அவர்கள் ஆராதிக்கும் இடமும் அவரே. யாக்கோபு வயல் வெளியில் படுத்துறங்கி, விழித்து மெய்யாகவே கர்த்தர் இந்த ஸ்தலத்தில்இருக்கிறார் என்று சொன்னபோது கடவுள் அவரோடு இருந்ததுபோல அவர் மக்களோடும் இருக்கிறார். நித்தியமானவரின் அமைதி நிறைந்த வாசஸ்தலமாகிய மகா பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலம்போல் அவர்களுக்கு அமைதி நிறைந்த பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலமாயும் இருப்பார்.
கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் கடவுள்கிருபையின் புகலிடம் ஆனவர். ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுவே உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டி. கிறிஸ்துவாகிய நம் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் ஆரோனுடைய கோலும், மன்னா உள்ள கலசமும், நியாயப்பிரமாணங்களடங்கிய பலகைகளும் இருக்கின்றன. கடவுளில் நாம் பரிசுத்தமும், ஆன்மீகக் கூட்டுறவின்தனச் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்ததுமான தொழுகை ஸ்தலத்தைக் கண்டடைகிறோம். இனியும் நமக்குத் தேவையானது என்ன? ஆண்டவரே, இந்த வாக்குறுதியை நிறைவேற்றி, எப்போதும் எங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலமாக இரும்.

„Darum sprich du: So spricht der Herr Herr: Ja, ich habe sie ferne weg unter die Heiden lassen treiben, und in die Länder zerstreut; doch will ich ihnen wie ein Heiligtum sein in den Ländern, dahin sie gekommen sind. “Hes. 11, 16.
Verbannt von den öffentlichen Gnadenmitteln, sind wir nicht abgeschnitten von der Gnade der Mittel. Der Herr, der die Seinen dahin stellt, wo sie sich wie Verbannte fühlen, will selber mit ihnen sein und ihnen alles sein, was sie daheim an der Stätte ihrer feierlichen Versammlungen gehabt hätten. Nehmt dies zu Herzen, o ihr, die ihr zum Wandern berufen seid!
Gott ist für sein Volk eine Stätte der Zuflucht. Sie finden bei Ihm eine Freistätte vor jedem Widersacher. Er ist auch ihre Stätte der Andacht. Er ist mit ihnen wie mit Jakob, als er auf dem offenen Felde schlief und beim Aufstehen sagte: „Gewisslich ist der Herr an diesem Ort.“ Auch eine Stätte der Stille will Er ihnen sein, wie das Allerheiligste, das die geräuschlose Wohnung des Heiligen war. Sie sollen ruhig sein und ohne Furcht vor Übel.
Gott selbst in Christo Jesu ist die Stätte der Barmherzigkeit. Die Bundeslade ist der Herr Jesus, und Aarons Rute, der Krug mit dem Manna und die Gesetzestafeln, alles ist in Christus, unserem Heiligtum. In Gott fi nden wir den Schrein der Heiligkeit und der Gemeinschaft. Was haben wir mehr nötig?
O Herr, erfülle diese Verheißung und sei uns stets wie ein Heiligtum!
