Exceedingly Precious
They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts in that day when I make up my jewels. (Malachi 3:17)
A day is coming in which the crown jewels of our great King shall be counted, that it may be seen whether they answer to the inventory which His Father gave Him. My soul, wilt thou be among the precious things of Jesus? Thou art precious to Him if He is precious to thee, and thou shalt be His “in that day,” if He is thine in this day.
In the days of Malachi, the chosen of the Lord were accustomed so to converse with each other that their God Himself listened to their talk. He liked it so well that He took notes of it; yes, and made a book of it, which He lodged in His record office. Pleased with their conversation, He was also pleased with them. Pause, my soul, and ask thyself: If Jesus were to listen to thy talk would He be pleased with it? Is it to His glory and to the edification of the brotherhood? Say, my soul, and be sure thou sayest the truth.
But what will the honor be for us poor creatures to be reckoned by the Lord to be His crown jewels! This honor have all the saints. Jesus not only says, “They are mine,” but, “They shall be mine.” He bought us, sought us, brought us in, and has so far wrought us to His image that we shall be fought for by Him with all His might.

மதிப்பு மிக்கது
என் சம்பத்தை நான் சேர்க்கும் நாளிலே அவர்கள் என்னுடையவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள் (மல். 3:17).
நம் பெரிய அரசரிடம்அவர் பிதா கொடுத்த பட்டியல்படி சம்பத்து எல்லாம் சரியாய் இருக்கிறதா என்று கணக்கு எடுக்கும் நாள் வருகிறது என் ஆத்துமாவே மதிப்பு மிக்கவையாய் இயேசு எண்ணுபவற்றில் நீயும் ஒன்றாய் இருப்பாயா? அவர் உனக்கு மதிப்பு மிக்கவராய் இருந்தால் நீயும் அவருக்கு மதிப்புமிக்கவனாய் இருப்பாய். இன்று அவர் உனக்கு உரியவராய் இருந்தால் அந்த நாளிலே நீயும்
அவருக்கு உரியவனாய் இருப்பாய்.
மல்கியாவின் நாட்களிலே ஆண்டவரால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்படுபவர்கள் தங்கள் கடவுளே தாங்கள் பேசுவதைக்கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்னும் எண்ணத்துடன்
ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசும் பழக்கம் உள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள். கடவுள் அதை விரும்பினபடியால் அதைக் குறிப்பெடுத்து ஒரு நூலாக்கி பத்திரப்படுத்திக்கொண்டார்கள். அவர்கள் உரையாடலைக் குறித்து திருப்தியடைந்த அவர் அவர்கள் மேலும்திருப்தி உள்ளவர் ஆனார். என் ஆன்மாவே உன் உரையாடலை இயேசு கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தால் அதைக்குறித்து அவர் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவாரா? அது அவர் மகிமைக்கும் சகோதரர்கள் பத்திவிருத்திக்கும் ஏதுவாய் இருக்கிறதா சொல். என் ஆன்மாவே உண்மையைச் சொல்.
ஏழைகளாகியநாம் நம் ஆண்டவரின் சம்பத்தாக எண்ணப்படுவது எவ்வளவு பெரிய புகழாகும் என்று நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள். எல்லாப் பரிசுத்தவான்களும் இந்தப் புகழ் உடையவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள். இயேசு அவர்கள் என்னுடையவர்கள் என்று மட்டும் சொல்லவில்லை. அவர்கள் என்னுடையவர்களாய் இருப்பார்கள்என்கிறார். அவர் நம்மை விலை கொடுத்து வாங்கினார். தேடியலைந்து நம்மைக் கண்டு பிடித்துக் கொண்டு வந்தார். இதுவரை தம் சாயலாக நம்மை உருவாக்கியிருப்பதால் தம் முழு ஆற்றலோடும் நமக்காகப் போர் புரிவார்.

„Sie sollen mein sein, spricht der Herr Zebaoth, an jenem Tage, da ich meine Juwelen voll machen will.“ Mal. 3, 17.
Es kommt ein Tag, an dem die Kronjuwelen unseres großen Königs gezählt werden sollen, damit man sieht, ob sie dem Verzeichnis, das sein Vater Ihm gegeben hat, entsprechen. Meine Seele, wirst du unter den Kleinodien Jesu sein? Du bist Ihm köstlich, wenn Er dir köstlich ist, und du sollst sein „an jenem Tage“ sein, wenn Er an diesem Tage dein ist.
In den Tagen Maleachis pflegten die Erwählten des Herrn sich so miteinander zu unterhalten, dass ihr Gott selber auf ihre Reden horchte. Ihm gefielen sie so, dass Er sie aufzeichnete, ja, und Er machte ein Buch daraus, das Er aufbewahrte. Da ihr Gespräch Ihm gefiel, so gefielen sie selber Ihm auch. Halte inne, meine Seele, und frage dich: wenn Jesus deinem Gespräch zuhörte, würde es Ihm gefallen? Ist es zu seiner Ehre und zur Erbauung der Brüder? Sprich, meine Seele, und sei gewiss, dass du die Wahrheit sagst.
Aber welch eine Ehre wird es für uns arme Geschöpfe sein, wenn der Herr uns als seine Kronjuwelen schätzt! Diese Ehre haben alle Heiligen. Jesus sagt nicht nur: „Sie sind mein“, sondern: „Sie sollen mein sein“. Er kaufte uns, suchte uns, brachte uns in sein Reich und hat uns so weit seinem Bilde gleich gemacht, dass Er uns mit all seiner Kraft verteidigen wird.
