Close Fellowship
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 31:34)
Truly, whatever else we do not know, we know the Lord. This day is this promise true in our experience, and it is not a little one. The least believer among us knows God in Christ Jesus. Not as fully as we desire; but yet truly and really we know the Lord. We not only know doctrines about Him, but we know Him. He is our Father and our Friend. We are acquainted with Him personally. We can say, “My Lord, and my God.” We are on terms of close fellowship with God, and many a happy season do we spend in His holy company. We are no more strangers to our God, but the secret of the Lord is with us.
This is more than nature could have taught us. Flesh and blood has not revealed God to us. Christ Jesus had made known the Father to our hearts. If, then, the Lord has made us know Himself, is not this the fountain of all saving knowledge? To know God is eternal life. So soon as we come to acquaintance with God we have the evidence of being quickened into newness of life. O my soul, rejoice in this knowledge, and bless thy God all this day!

நெருங்கிய கூட்டுறவு
இனி ஒருவன் தன் அயலானையும், ஒருவன் தன் சகோதரனையும் நோக்கி: கர்த்தரை அறிந்துகொள் என்று போதிப்பதில்லை. அவர்களில் சிறியவன் முதல் பெரியவன் மட்டும், எல்லாரும் என்னை அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் (எரேமி.31:34).
உண்மையாகவே நாம் வேறு எதைப்பற்றியும் அறியாவிட்டாலும் ஆண்டவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். இன்றே நம் அனுபவத்தில் இந்த வாக்குறுதி உண்மையாய் இருக்கிறது. இது அற்பமான சிறு வாக்குறுதியல்ல. நம்மில் அற்பமான விசுவாசியும் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் கடவுளை அறிகிறோம். நாம் விரும்புகிற அளவு முழுவதுமாக அல்ல, ஆனால் உண்மையாகவும் கற்பனை அல்லாத விதமாகவும் ஆண்டவரை அறிகிறோம். அவரைப்பற்றிய கோட்பாடுகளை மட்டும் நாம் அறிந்திருக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் அவரையே அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். அவர் நம் பிதாவும் நண்பரும் ஆனவர். நாம் நேராகவே அவரோடு பழகியிருக்கிறோம். என் ஆண்டவரே, என் தேவனே என்று நாம் சொல்லக்கூடும். நாம் கடவுளோடு நெருங்கிய கூட்டுறவு உள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கிறோம். அவருடைய தூய தோழமையின் பல மகிழ்ச்சி நிறைந்த காலங்கள் செலவிட்டிருக்கிறோம். இனி நாம் நம் கடவுளுக்கு அந்நியரல்ல. ஆண்டவரின் இரகசியத்தை அறிந்தவர்களாய் இருக்கிறோம்.
இது இயற்கை நமக்குப் போதிப்பதைவிட அதிகமானது. மாம்சமும் இரத்தமும் கடவுளை நமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தவில்லை. கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவே பிதாவை நமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினார். இவ்விதமாக ஆண்டவரே அவரை நாம் அறிந்துகொள்ளச் செய்திருக்கும்போது, இதுவே இரட்சிப்பைப்பற்றிய அறிவின் ஊற்றல்லவா? கடவுளை அறிவதே நித்திய வாழ்வு. ஆகவே, கடவுளை நாம் அறியத் தொடங்கியவுடன் புது வாழ்வில் உயிரடைவதன் அறிகுறிகளை உணர்கிறோம். என் ஆத்துமாவே, இதை அறிந்தபடியால் மகிழ்ந்து இந்த நாள் முழுவதும் உன் கடவுளைப் போற்றித் துதி.

„Und wird keiner den anderen, noch ein Bruder den anderen lehren und sagen: Erkenne den Herrn; sondern sie sollen mich alle kennen, beide, klein und groß, spricht der Herr.“ Jer. 31, 34.
Wahrlich, was wir auch sonst nicht kennen, den Herrn kennen wir. Heute ist diese Verheißung in unserer Erfahrung wahr, und es ist keine kleine. Der geringste Gläubige unter uns kennt Gott in Christus Jesus. Nicht so völlig, wie wir wünschen, aber doch kennen wir den Herrn wahrhaft und wirklich. Wir kennen nicht nur Lehren über Ihn, sondern wir kennen Ihn . Er ist unser Vater und unser Freund. Wir sind mit Ihm persönlich bekannt. Wir können sprechen: „Mein Herr und mein Gott.“ Wir stehen in enger Gemeinschaft mit Gott und verbringen manche glückliche Stunde in seiner heiligen Gesellschaft. Wir sind unserem Gott nicht mehr fremd, sondern das Geheimnis des Herrn ist unter uns.
Dies ist mehr, als die Natur uns gelehrt haben könnte. Fleisch und Blut hat uns Gott nicht geoffenbart. Christus Jesus lehrte unsere Herzen den Vater kennen. Wenn also der Herr selbst sich uns kundgegeben hat, ist dies nicht die Quelle aller seligmachenden Erkenntnis? Gott kennen ist das ewige Leben. Sobald wir zur Bekanntschaft mit Gott kommen, haben wir den Beweis, dass wir zu einem neuen Leben erweckt sind. O meine Seele, freue dich dieser Erkenntnis und lobe deinen
